Podcast: Two Cents' Worth

Business podcast: Why your first job is crucial

Welcome to Newsroom's business podcast, where this week we examine why your first job is so important. We also look at why interest rates are still at record lows despite very low unemployment, why wholesale power prices are at record highs and what the new CEO of Vodafone might do.

Two Cents' Worth has been launched by Newsroom in a co-production with RNZ. It is the country's first weekly business podcast and will be broadcast just after the Midday news on Sundays on RNZ National, be available on both RNZ and Newsroom's websites - and we plan to make it available on iTunes from later today.

Each week we will examine one issue in depth and then convene a panel discussion from Newsroom business editor Nikki Mandow, Interest.co.nz political and economics writer Jenée Tibshraeny, RNZ business editor Giles Beckford and Newsroom Pro managing editor Bernard Hickey.

Two Cents' Worth - the business week and the business outlook. Available from Friday afternoons. Previous episodes are below.

Episode 1: Sunday November 4. The rise of double cab utes, the TAB's big profit and a threat to small electricity retailers.
