Finding the flow with adventure recreation

A University of Otago study has investigated the effects adventure recreation can have on physical and mental wellbeing.

One significant factor individuals reported as a motive to take part in adventure recreation was the state of 'flow' experienced when a person is completely immersed in an activity, making them feel like they are in complete control of what they are doing.

Here lead author and PhD candidate Patrick Bourdreau discusses the concept of 'flow'.
