Choice TV is running a series about the Dunedin wildlife hospital that caters for native NZ animals. Each week Newsroom will show an exclusive extra scene from last night’s episode.

Episode 3: Fluffy yellow-eyed penguin chicks graduate to the pool pen at Penguin Place

Out on the Otago Peninsula, the Penguin Place rehabilitation centre cares for penguin patients discharged from the Wildlife Hospital. Today, carers Megan and Adrian will graduate four fluffy hoiho chicks from their private quarters into the fabled Pool Pen.

Wildlife Rescue New Zealand follows the trials of injured animals as they’re rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild, whilst exploring the human journeys of those who dedicate their lives to safeguarding vulnerable wildlife.
