Choice TV is running a series about the Dunedin wildlife hospital that caters for native NZ animals. Each week Newsroom will show an exclusive extra scene from last night’s episode.

Episode 4: Ben patrolling Yellow-eyed Penguin Trust reserve

Summer is starting to lose its sting, but a surge of disease-carrying mosquitoes is causing major irritation for Dunedin’s wildlife rescuers. With penguins dropping of the perch left, right and centre, ranger Ben Goldsworthy must step up the search-and-rescue effort.

Wildlife Rescue New Zealand follows the trials of injured animals as they’re rescued, rehabilitated and released back into the wild, whilst exploring the human journeys of those who dedicate their lives to safeguarding vulnerable wildlife.
