Ruby Tui's award for World Rugby Women's Sevens player of the year was a no-brainer, after evolving into a "true ambassador" of the game, host Ravinder Hunia explains in this week's episode of Sports A-Gender.

The extra 1 percent of effort Tui gives on the field to lift the Black Ferns Sevens, and her new work off the field this season as a rugby commentator, made her an obvious winner of the annual international award.

Tui's team-mate Portia Woodman is finally back in action at the Oceania sevens tournament in Fiji this weekend - after a year recovering from an Achilles injury.

And the Sports A-Gender team also talk to Luuka Jones about a big decision hanging over her in the lead-up to next year's Tokyo Olympics.

Sports A-Gender is a weekly news show highlighting the achievements of Kiwi sportswomen during the week, and what lies ahead on the weekend - produced by Sky Sport News in partnership with LockerRoom.
