“Rapid” change required to reduce warming

Keeping global warming to within 1.5 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels is vital, according to a landmark report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). 

But the IPCC warned the world is nowhere near to achieving this goal, with global temperatures on track to increase to 3 degrees celsius above pre-industrial levels.
