Olympic silver medallists Alex Maloney and Molly Meech hope to go one place better at the 49erFX world championships on their home waters next week, and have had the perfect dress rehearsal at the Oceania championships.

Maloney and Meech won the three-day Oceania regatta on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour from a strong international fleet, but say their real focus is on "the big one", which starts on Tuesday.

Sports A-Gender this week also features Football Fern Sarah Morton on her side's objective to score more goals, and Silver Ferns shooter Te Paea Selby-Rickit on her big shift in the ANZ Premiership.
