Newsroom judged Website of the Year
Newsroom won big at the Voyager Media Awards on Friday – judged joint* Website of the Year and Melanie Reid winning Reporter of the Year and Story of the Year.
Newsroom set out in its first year to change the New Zealand media landscape by producing quality written and video stories that set the national news agenda and inform intelligent conversations at every level of New Zealand life.
This effort has been rewarded with the supreme digital prize at the 2018 Voyager Media Awards, Best Website.
One of the biggest stories of 2017 first saw the light of day at Newsroom. Our investigation into clandestine recording of staff at the electorate office of National Party MP Todd Barclay was awarded Best Story and Melanie Reid, who reported the story, was awarded Best Reporter.
