The Football Ferns will play Italy in the semifinal of the Algarve Cup in Portugal on Sunday, but without their centurion Sarah Gregorius.
After scoring a penalty in the Ferns' dramatic shoot-out win over Belgium, in her 100th game for New Zealand, Gregorius announced her "re-retirement" from international football (she retired once before after the 2016 Rio Olympics). She told Sky Sport News her decision wasn't made overnight, and it was time to focus on the next chapter of her life.
The ANZ Premiership starts next week but with a different format - games played on two days a week rather than three - with the approval of coaches and players alike. Tactix coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek says it will mean one extra training a week for her side, and a much better product delivered on the netball court.
In other news: new Olympic sailor Erica Dawson reveals who really does the hard work on a Nacra 17 cat, and former Tall Fern Chanel Pompallier explains what being the first female coach in the Breakers franchise means to other women in basketball around the country.
And check out Ravinder Hunia's breakdown - with the help of virtual reality - of the UFC 248 straw-weight world title fight between the first-ever Chinese UFC champion, Weili Zhang, and Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk this Sunday.
